Michael's Week 4 Post:Class Blogging=Powerful LearningBlog Site: http://michaelmlearnsonline.weebly.com/index.html
Thanks Michael for sharing, from a teacher's perspective, a class’s blogging experiences. I am glad that it has been a success. You said that half your class returned their forms by May 16th. Did they all in time or are there some students not participating? In relation to Jayden, it is wonderful when a class learning activity can lead to a student self-directed project. This is the kind of learning I like to see taking place.
On another note in relation to class blogging, I posted in Google+ and on Twitter about a class who are blogging worldwide. ``A Global Village of Students, Teachers and Families”. http://bit.ly/18cBbC9
When my husband was in grade 5 his class participated in an international pen pal program. He is still in touch with his pen pal from New Zealand. This option is now available on the internet. I came across this site "Students of the World an open window on World's cultures. Students do not have to give their email address or personal info to participate. http://www.studentsoftheworld.info/menu_penpals.php . When you go to this page click on teacher ads to see the most recent posts of classes looking to connect.
Through the responses to your post one can see the power of sharing that can occur between teachers.
Thanks, Jane
