Hi Breanne,
I think you may have come up with an idea for your final project, create your own animated video in RSA format on the topics of MOOCs, OERs, eTextbooks, etc.
In looking to see if I could be of help in your search I came across the Pinterest site belonging to a Tara Ross titled, “Open Educational Resources”. When you have a minute check out her site, as she has some great resources pinned.
On this page was a link to the RSA Animate website.
From this website I clicked on a few more links and came across a study that compared, “… the psychological influence of plain talking head clip, with a hand-drawn animation video.”
The findings match what you are saying about your learning style, animation increases retention of information. Also animations are found to be more entertaining and people are much more willing to share what they have learned due to how interesting and informative they found it.
As educators, if looking to meet the needs of all of our students, in this case visual and auditory learners, we need to look to and take advantage of the different open educational resources available.
Thanks, Jane J
